Description
The Canine Cooler dog bed uses SoothSoft Comfort Technology to give your dog comfort that is second to none. The fluid-enhanced design offers a dry, lasting cooling effect, combined with a superior cushioning support. No refrigeration is necessary; SoothSoft Comfort Technology works at room temperature.

Perfect for dogs that are always hot or panting (which means year-round in your 78-80 degree home). While we think every dog should have a Canine Cooler, it is especially good for dogs with canine arthritis, calluses, thick coats, excess weight, Cushing’s Disease, hygromas, short muzzles, or dogs who are old, very large, sleep on hard floors, are recovering from surgery or illness.

The Canine Cooler is puncture proof, non-toxic, and completely maintenance free! Other pet beds allow fleas to burrow and lay eggs, but the smooth surface of the Canine Cooler is easily wiped clean.

You love your dog and want to keep him or her happy and healthy. But have you bought a Canine Cooler Brand Pet Bed so your pooch will have a constant cool spot in summer, relief from furnace and fireplace heat in winter, and cushiony support for vulnerable joints all year?

Canine Cooler is a dog bed that will help keep your dog content year-round. It is non-electric, non-toxic, paw-puncture proof*, and easy to clean. Fleas hate the cool environment but dogs love it.

The summer months can be brutal to your dog. Dogs are much more susceptible to heatstroke than humans because they have to wear a fur coat all year long and they have no sweat glands. Dogs try to cool themselves off by panting but it’s less efficient than sweating so they tend to suffer more from heat. Dogs with thick, double-coats are especially vulnerable to heatstroke as are dogs with pushed-back faces such as Bulldogs, Pugs and Boxers with smaller airways so they have less ability to blow out hot air.

The Canine Cooler is an excellent antidote. Use it indoors, outside (away from direct sunlight), and in the crate for traveling. Eases heat discomfort, joint problems, skin disorders, hip problems and more. See our Extraordinary Bed page for more health benefits information.

The Canine Cooler's outer membrane is 20 mil thick - tough enough to park a truck on and not pop! In fact, we guarantee the bed against claw puncture for two years. As tough as this NON-TOXIC membrane is, however, it will not harm your dog should the bed be chewed by accident.*

Made in the USA and guaranteed for two years.

Canine Cooler Features:

  • Activates with water, no electricity needed
  • Cold therapy soothes inflammation and painful joints
  • Non-toxic, safe for the environment
  • Useful for a variety of therapeutic applications

    Canine Cooler Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make the Canine Cooler® the coolest it can be for my dog?
First, taking the time to properly fill and seal your pet bed will ensure it has the greatest ability to dissipate heat. Secondly, placing it on a cold floor, near a fan, or in a room with air conditioning will add even more coolness to your dog's bed. Also, SoothSoft® Comfort Technology was designed to work at room temperature, so the cooler the room, the more cooling capacity the bed will have. If there is an area in your house that is cooler than others, does not get as much sunlight, or is near a source of ventilation, place the bed there for the maximum cooling effect. However, please understand that this products delivers a great cooling effect anywhere in the home as long as it is not in direct sunlight.

How do I make it the most supportive and comfortable for my dog?
Filling and sealing the bed properly assures the greatest level of support and comfort. This product uses new SoothSoft® Comfort Technology, a unique method of providing coolness and the right amount of body support for each area of the dog’s body. When filled properly, this bed should have a slightly wrinkled "vacuum packed" appearance (see #5 on Page 1 of the Canine Cooler® instructions). There should be no water motion. Follow the filling instructions very carefully for the best result. After two weeks of use, remove accumulated air to provide maximum coolness. If you are still unable to get a good vacuum packed appearance, remove a few ounces of water and try again.

    Is it easy to clean?
There is no dog bed on the market that is any easier to clean. Simply wash with warm water and mild dish soap, rinse clean and wipe dry. The Canine Cooler® does not absorb odors like conventional beds.

    What about chewing?
The Canine Cooler® is not suggested for use with dogs that are under one year old and/or are prone to chewing.

Can I use The Canine Cooler® outside?
YES, but not in direct sunlight. Sunlight will warm the bed and may discolor it. Use in deep shade such as under a covered porch, underneath an overhang, in the garage out of the sunlight's range, or under a large, shady tree. If it feels cooler to your touch than the surrounding air, then it is working correctly. It does not have to be cold to work it just has to be cooler than the dog, and following the laws of thermodynamics, the dog will lose heat to it. This product will always absorb and dissipate heat better than anything else your dog may choose to lie on. If you leave the bed outside, and the night temperature gets down to 50-75 degrees, this will give the Canine Cooler® a nice, full "charge" and allow it to offer super cool comfort for your dog.

    Can I cover it?
Absolutely. We offer covers in a variety of materials and in several colors to match any room.

What do I do in the winter?
Your dog should have access to their Canine Cooler® year round. The normal temperature of a healthy dog may range from 99° F to 102.5° F (37.2° C to 39.2° C), combine that with a fur coat in a home climate adjusted to make humans comfortable, and you have a very hot dog on a quest for a cool place to lie down. In searching for that cool spot, your dog will settle for lying on tile, cement, vinyl or other hard surface. These types of surfaces create incredible strain on your dog’s joints, hips and muscles and over time can lead to such common ailments as arthritis and hip dysplasia. By leaving the Canine Cooler® in place you ensure that your dog has a cool, comfortable spot at all times.

For dogs that seek out warmth in winter, consider one of our covers that will help block the cooling effect while still offering the therapeutic comfort of the Canine Cooler®.

If you still desire storing the Canine Cooler® during winter months, start by cleaning the surface and then move it under a bed or to an out of the way shelf. DO NOT ever drain your Canine Cooler® as it is not necessary and, once spring rolls around, it will be immediately ready for your dog to use.

What if my dog doesn’t get on the Canine Cooler®?
Most dogs will find the coolest spot in the house. Simply place the bed where you would like your dog to sleep or rest and before long you should find him taking to it. This is a great way to keep your dog out from underfoot since the coolest spot in the house no longer has to be your kitchen or bathroom floor. Make sure the product is cooled to room temperature before you give it to your dog. It will be ready when it feels cool or cold to the touch. If your dog does not begin using the bed in several days, there are a few options. First, place a shirt or some other piece of your clothing on the bed so the dog will be comforted by your scent. For timid dogs, try covering the bed with a thin sheet or cloth. At this point, you may wish to gently coax your dog onto it while you sit beside the bed and not on it.  Placing a few treats on and around the bed will get your dog near it and on it until he gets used to the new cooling and cushioning sensation.

Can I use the Canine Cooler® in the car?
The bed will provide a cool spot for your dog while traveling. Please note: It will NOT keep your dog cool in a parked car during warm weather.  While you travel, an open window or light air conditioning will help the bed continue to dissipate heat. If you travel with it frequently, it may be most convenient to purchase another unit which can be filled with less water for easy handling. For short trips and around town, a much smaller amount of water will have enough cooling power to keep your dog happy.

Living in the desert means my dog gets overheated constantly--even indoors. I like knowing that when he's hot, he can relax on his cooler bed and it will keep him comfortable and cool. A great buy for anyone in hotter climates.
